 ABOUT US

Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy provides enriched instruction in mathematics, science, and technology in an academically challenging, college preparatory environment.  Teachers engage students with research-based practices to develop 21st century skills such as cooperative and collaborative learning and technology integration. Teachers develop curricula guided by school-wide learning outcomes in conjunction with a national network of educators on the forefront of project-based learning in an environment supported by technology similar to the business world.

Our small learning environment supports the social, emotional, and educational needs of students.  The expectation of professional personal conduct is evident throughout the school in the responsibilities afforded student leaders and shared governance among the faculty and staff. Through an advisory program and low teacher-student ratio, teachers develop long-term relationships with small groups of students.  Further, opportunities for career planning and work experience are available through mentorship opportunities for students who excel academically.

As we look to the future, we will join with students in developing a school culture and identity within the community and in partnership with local businesses and universities.  In a culturally diverse environment, students will practice the skills needed to compete in the global marketplace.  Additionally, students will be guided in independent research that will prepare them to become lifelong learners and leaders in the fields of mathematics, science, and technology.
